" Totem is a large essential loft furnished by the products on sale:
American design. In this case, the point of view of the creator of Totem, David
Shearer, is of particular interest. This American architect and designer
says that American design had recently been making a comeback (after the fruitful
period in the Thirties, Forties, and Fifties). He set up Totem Design a few years
ago for this very reason. Apart from the shop, Totem also conducts research all
over the United States, discovering new talented designers to put alongside imports
from Great Britian and Scandinavia. In the open space featuring a light wooden
floor and large windows that offer excellent natural illumination, the products
are displayed as though they were in a museum."
