NEW BRAVE GLASS @ TOTEM SOHO
  
Totem design group is pleased to announce a collaboration with Skruf, celebrated
Swedish manufacturer of outstanding, contemporary handmade glass.
Skruf, purveyor to His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and the Swedish
Royal Family, creates the glassware given as gifts from Sweden to visiting heads
of state, including Europe's official gift to President George W. Bush on his
visit to Sweden in 2001.
Skruf also supplies the glass for Sweden's embassies and consulates for use when
entertaining important guests on occasions of state and specially designed glassware
for celebrities.
With the exhibition "New Brave Glass", Skruf brings an inspirational event
to
the New York design scene.
Seven of Sweden's most exciting designers have designed glass pieces utilizing
Skruf's unique melted glass process, a carefully guarded secret known only to
a few master craftsmen.
For glass is not just glass. It is only in the unique mixture of the components
of glass in the melt that one achieves that utterly crystalline sense of living
glass. All products are made by hand down to the smallest detail, either mouth-blown
by master craftsmen in the glassworks or handmade rim using ancient methods to
create a unique and lively feeling.
Totem Design Group is a multifaceted company dedicated to promote good design
through physical stores, exhibitions and educational multimedia.
