LOFT CUBE: The
compact portable house for modern nomads.
It seems like a spaceship on top of a building. These mobile living
units, placed on flat roofs by helicopters or cranes and connected
to the building's utilities, offer additional living space in big
cities. Utopian loftcube living envisages self-contained rooftop
communities, a new way of life with a view and privacy, tranquillity
and freedom compared to the condensed living spaces and speeded-up
everyday metropolitan existence.

Utopia
is Where You Park It
I'll never forget as a kid hanging in the back of our 1966
Ford Country Squire station wagon- complete with real imitation
wood paneling as we wound our way across the USA on one of
our yearly family vacations...

California
Dreaming
With the brutal winter and depressing spring the East coast
has endured this year it is no wonder that thinking about
the left coast has entered many a mind lately. The Mama's
and the Papa's had it right and California Dreaming is
what I have been doing recently.

Milan
Furniture Fair 2003
This years show was stronger than ever but in ways that were more subtle
than years past. Yes the exhibiting manufacturers tended towards
the safe and conservative side, the parties seemed a little more civilized
and it was easier to find taxi's - But indeed the excitement and level
of work that was exhibited was a nice, albeit brief, respite from the "real" world
on our television screens.
