 LOFT CUBE: The compact portable house for modern nomads. It seems like a spaceship on top of a building. These mobile living units, placed on flat roofs by helicopters or cranes and connected to the building's utilities, offer additional living space in big cities. Utopian loftcube living envisages self-contained rooftop communities, a new way of life with a view and privacy, tranquillity and freedom compared to the condensed living spaces and speeded-up everyday metropolitan existence. |

This years show was stronger than ever but in ways that were more subtle than years past. Yes the exhibiting manufacturers tended towards the safe and conservative side, the parties seemed a little more civilized and it was easier to find taxi's - But indeed the excitement and level of work that was exhibited was a nice, albeit brief, respite from the "real" world on our television screens. |
